The Value of Small Groups

Throughout the many years of my ministry as a Director of Christian Education, I have been involved in a “Small Group” most of the time.  My experience has convinced me that small groups in a church have many benefits.  What I have experienced for myself as a participant and as a small group leader is that small groups are a great place for:

1.       Fostering new relationships.

2.       Gaining a greater understanding of God’s Word and developing a more personal relationship with Jesus.

3.       Developing Spiritual disciplines

4.       Being motivated to disciple others in their faith.

5.       Having a safe place to share and be encouraged by group members.

6.       Support each other when special needs arise in daily living.

7.       Giving and receiving prayer support from among the group members.
